Orientation Stations

Are you or your loved ones forgetting appointments? Losing their keys? Even sometimes forgetting their address?

Let Goodcare’s Speech Therapists help you design an Orientation Station.

Whiteboard

Write down reminders of upcoming events or appointments. Write down today’s day of the week and date the top. Write down emergency phone numbers and the address of your home.

Monthly Calendar

Cross off each day after it’s done. Select calendars with large print. Write down all appointments.

List of Important Contacts

Sometimes it is easier to read a number off a list than to navigate a phone directory.

Sticky Notes

Use for pretty much everything. Label drawers, doors, reminders, etc. Place them on bathroom mirrors, bedside tables, door knobs, and phones.

Photos

Photos of friends and family, both new and old, to trigger memories and familiar feelings of love and safety.

Digital Clock

Try to find one that shows the day of the week and date with large print. Analog clocks can be difficult for people with memory impairments to read.
